How to repair a roof?

You shouldn’t try to repair a roof alone. It’s not a DIY job! Your roof needs an inspection from a certified, qualified roofing inspector who can then determine the severity of the issue, the size of the spot that needs to be repaired, the materials needed, and the labor involved.

You also need a certified, experienced roofing team to get the job done right.

How much does it cost to repair a roof?

While we know you’re hoping for a hard and fast number it really depends on the size and severity of the damage. It also depends on the amount of manpower necessary to make the repair.

A small repair that can be done in one visit and which only requires the technician on hand and the materials on the truck may only cost a couple of hundred dollars. Larger repairs requiring a skilled installation crew, materials from a supplier, and more detailed scheduling can get much more expensive.

How to repair a roof leak?

This all depends on the type of repair required.

A loose pipe or vent coming through the roof can be a source of leaks, for example. This can often be remedied by resealing the penetration area and then water testing it to make sure the job is done.

Unfortunately, long-term leaking, even from a small opening, can lead to damaged decking material beneath the shingles if you leave it unrepaired. That means the entire deck would need to be removed and replaced. That can cost a lot more!

Your best bet? Call a qualified roofer the moment you know there is damage.
